Writer Biography:
Gregory Solomon
I have worked in the film industry for more than half my life, mostly as a union Makeup FX artist. In the course of my “day-job” I was required to read countless scripts that needed FX breakdowns. Some were very good. Others were practically unreadable. This started me down the road of studying Screenwriting in the mid 90’s to get a better understanding of what characteristics a “good” script should have. I am mostly self-taught through books, but I have also attended Screenwriting seminars and boot-camps whenever I could.
Eventually I had the good fortune to acquire the representation of a Literary Manager in Los Angeles who sent me on many great interviews with very prestigious production companies including Weed Road, Lightstorm, Hallmark, and several others. But, alas, I remain unproduced, and I no longer retain representation.
I have recently retired from doing makeup and have devoted the rest of my career to writing Faith-Based Screenplays. “Unforgivable” is based on a true story and is my 7th and most recent full-length Screenplay. So far it has won 3 - 1st Place awards (Best Screenplay, Best Message, Best Script), 2 Quarter Finalist positions, 1 Selection, and 3 Nominations.
I firmly believe that stories based on real events have the most lasting impact on people because they always hit close to home, no matter what one’s personal life experiences are. Writing is a very fulfilling venture for me, and I pray my efforts will also be inspirational to those who watch the stories I write.
